Overdraft Protection - No More Bounced Checks.

  1. Member PrivilegeSM - XCEL automatically offers a FREE special overdraft protection program, called Member Privilege, to its checking account customers. Member Privilege is a non-contractual courtesy that provides you with a "safety net" of up to $400. Member Privilege can save you the unnecessary embarrassment (and additional charges) associated with having a check returned for a non-sufficient balance.

    The program is available to all checking customers who maintain a checking account in good standing (regular deposits must be made and the account must be brought to a positive balance at least once every 30 days). There are no fees other than the normal non-sufficient funds (NSF) fee of $25 for each item overdrawn. As in the past, XCEL will continue to notify a member if an overdraft occurs.

  2. Instant Line of Credit - Choose this optional line of credit, up to $250, and your checks are automatically covered when you overdraw your checking account, saving you time, trouble and embarrassment.
     
  3. Transfer - or, choose to have your money automatically transferred from your regular savings account.
When checks are written in excess of the checking account balance, XCEL will transfer money from your regular savings account.
