IRA Certificate of Deposit

Since you already understand how a certificate works, an IRA Certificate is very similar.  It’s also a “time deposit.”  Meaning, your interest rate is based on how long you decide to tie up this money.  The longer the term, the greater the dividend you will earn.  So it really makes sense to put as much money as you can into an IRA Certificate.  It’s your retirement, we can help you make it more enjoyable!

No long-term investment is needed to earn great rates with XCEL’s IRA Accounts!  Invest from 91 days to 60 months with a minimum deposit of only $500.  The longer the investment, the more you earn!

  • Available Terms: 91 days, 6, 12, 24, 36, 48, or 60 months
  • Deposits can be made in person or banking-by-mail
  • Dividends are compounded monthly from day-of-deposit to day-of-withdrawal
  • Qualified rollover IRAs may also be designated as IRA Certificates
  • Maximum annual deposit to an IRA Certificate or savings is $5,000 (Excludes Catch-Up Deposits)
  • IRAs are federally insured up to $250,000 by NCUA
